On the third Tuesday of every month at 2:00pm the Robert Rowe Public Library endeavors to bring an entertaining movie to our patrons.
Feb. 21, 2012- "The Conspirator" (PG-13) This historical drama follows the effort of young lawyer, Frederick Aiken, (James McAvoy) as he defends Mary Surratt (Robin Wright Penn), a Confederate sympathizer accused of conspiring to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.
March 20 - "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" This film is an this adaptation of Lisa See's best-selling novel about two young girls in 19th-century China who are pledged as lifelong companions through an ancient ritual, although their friendship is sorely tested as they mature. This film is rated PG-13.
April 17 – "Sarah's Key" In the midst of researching an article about the roundup of Jews that took place in Paris in 1942, a journalist Julia Jarmond uncovers a connection. This drama is based on a bestselling novel of the same name that was inspired by actual events. This film is rated PG-13 and stars Kristin Scott Thomas.
May 15 – "Rebecca" An Alfred Hitchcock film that won an Oscar for Best Picture in 1941. This mystery stars Laurence Olivier as Maxim de Winter, a widower whose hapless second wife (Joan Fontaine) moves into his mansion only to find the memory of his first wife still governs the household.
A Sock Knitting Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the library Community Room from 9:30am - 12:00pm.
Every Monday morning there is a UFO Craft Group in the Community Room. Patrons are invited to bring UnFinished Objects and work on them in a social setting from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Examples of unfinished projects could be knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, or any other interest.
A new addition to the Robert W. Rowe Public Library is a Writing Group intended for writers 18 year and older. This group meets monthly on the first Saturday of the month.
