Lincoln Park Zoo Trip
Sat. July 25, 2009
9am to 3pm
Join us as we take an exciting trip to see bears, lions, giraffes and many more wild and exotic animals. The Robert W. Rowe Library is taking a trip to Lincoln Park Zoo, in Chicago. The school bus will leave the library on Saturday, July 25 at 9:00am sharp and will leave the zoo at 3:00pm that afternoon. We hope to return to the library at approximately 5pm. All ages are welcome; children under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over the age of 18. The cost of the trip is free. The bus is being provided through the generosity of Paul Jonassen, Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home. The Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the few remaining free zoos in the country and has numerous special exhibits to see. Some of the more recent exhibits to visit are The Regenstein Center for Great Apes, where you can get face to face with the zoo’s famous gorillas and apes. Or travel over to the Pritzker Family Children’s Zoo where you can observe red wolves, black bear, river otters and beavers in a wooded outdoor setting. For the kids and those who are still kids at heart, there is the Farm-In-The-Zoo where you can greet goats in the contact yard, visit with cows, sheep, chickens pigs and ponies.  You can bring your own lunch or purchase lunch at one of the zoo cafes located throughout the park. So bring the family on this free adventure and enjoy a day among the wild animals. Seating will be limited so please reserve your spot on the bus early. For more information or to register for this trip call the library at 815-496-2031.
