                                                                             Minutes

Call to Order:  President Brenda Brown called the meeting to order at 6:35pm.  Trustees present:  Jody Placek-Brown, John Maurer, Beth Bartling, Kathy Mufich, Karen Koubek.  Trustees absent:  Donna Klein-Acosta.  Guests present:  Debby Smith, Patricia Smith, Fred and Diane Schlipf.

New Business:  Fred, Library Building Consultant, conducted the meeting to continue development of a building plan.  The process of architect selection was presented.  Must advertise in local paper and interview 3-4 firms.  Architect firm will need minimum of four weeks to respond to the building program.  Fred offered to sit in on interviews at no fee and can provide a list of qualifications and questions to ask.  He also has a list of firms that have done libraries in Illinois.

The State of Illinois offers a grant program called Live and Learn.  Fred will contact Debby with information on this.

Discussion of hiring a Building management firm or General contactor was conducted.  Conducting focus groups and public information meetings was discussed.  HVAC system was discussed, its warranty begin once we move in.  Fred will include a timeline with the finished building plan.  

Construction costs can be expected to be $200-300 per square foot and furnishings $15.00 per square foot.  Builders Risk insurance should be purchased as each portion is built.  Construction costs are lower if the library is relocated during constructions.

The next special meeting will be scheduled October 12, 2011.

Adjournment:  A motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:45pm was made by Jody, seconded by Karen, motion carried.
